On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, PT Dahana demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by planting 1,000 mangrove seedlings along the coast of Kampung Empang Block, Mulyasari Hamlet, Anggarsari Village, Sukasari District, Subang Regency.

The mangrove planting ceremony was attended by PT Dahana’s President Director, Hary Irmawan; Corporate Secretary, Erwin Cipta Mulyana; General Manager of OHS, Sudirjo Heru; and other members of PT Dahana’s management. This initiative is part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) program aimed at rehabilitating the mangrove ecosystem on the North Coast of Subang.

Mr Irmawan emphasized that the event was not just a ceremony but a genuine demonstration of the Company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. “For us at PT Dahana, today is a special day. Our second visit to Anggarsari reflects that Dahana’s concern for the environment is not a passing moment but a continuous effort. We appreciate the shared passion from the local community for preserving their natural surroundings,” said Mr Irmawan.

He added that, as a high-tech industrial company, Dahana carries a significant responsibility to ensure that industrial progress aligns with environmental sustainability. “We aim to grow alongside the community, providing economic benefits while also contributing meaningfully to environmental conservation,” he noted.

Mangrove forests are crucial as natural coastal barriers as they protect the land from erosion, serve as habitats for various marine life that support local fisheries, and function as carbon dioxide absorbers, helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

The activity involved collaboration with the community, village officials, and local government representatives. This partnership highlights that environmental conservation efforts are most effective when undertaken collectively.

Sukasari Sub-district Head, Drs. AET Rudiatna, S.Ip., M.Si., who was also in attendance, expressed gratitude for PT Dahana’s dedication. He stated that the company’s Community and Environmental Sustainability (TJSL) program has significantly benefited the community by protecting the environment and creating new economic opportunities.

“On behalf of the community, we thank PT Dahana. We hope the mangrove seedlings planted today will thrive and provide considerable benefits to coastal communities,” Mr Rudiatna expressed.

In addition to the mangrove planting, the event included environmental observations, the signing of a declaration committing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and discussions with residents about managing the coastal ecosystem. Dahana hopes this initiative will inspire more stakeholders to actively participate in environmental preservation.
